about
Taking off on a new trail into folkier/Americana territory with fiddles and pedal-steel guitars, "Talona Spur" is a love letter to the mountain town of Blue Ridge, GA and the rivers, lakes and hiking trails connecting it all. It’s also a love letter to the one by your side when the road gets tough. Talona is a mountain in North Georgia with deep Cherokee Indian roots, and "Spur" can mean a rocky mountain outcropping, or something that motivates you. This song is a reminder and motivation to come back home to the mountains.
lyrics
To home, we go,
This otter, is swimming upstream,
Back to our, warm den
Along the way,
So many things, try to snare us,
But we don't, slow down
Much to do, much to do
We're never going down that road,
Unless we're arm in arm,
I'll always be the one who follows you,
And if you find yourself alone,
And unsure where you are,
I'll be waiting on Talona,
I'll be waiting on Talona,
For you
The winds, they howl,
Barking out, through the valley,
But here we are, hunkered down
When you remember,
What we came for,
We always pull each other through
Come with me, come with me
We're never going down that road,
Unless we're arm in arm,
I'll always be the one who follows you,
And if you find yourself alone,
And wonder where you are,
I'll be wading in Toccoa,
I'll be wading in Toccoa,
For you
Hold me to, my direction, now
You know how, to keep me true, yea
You, know I'll, never surrender, no
We only know one way
We're never going down that road,
Unless we're arm in arm,
I'll always be the one who follows you,
And if you find yourself alone,
And wonder where you are,
I'll be waiting on Talona,
I'll be wading in Toccoa,
For you
